I just watched this lengthy meeting. Its ironic in a City that's up to its earlobes in growth, can't seem to harness said growth for the tax revenue that should accompany it (and is under a DOGE audit), therefore is asking for even more money from the citizens by levying property tax increases, would spend hours talking about a social media post from a amateur Councilman. Granted it was a stupid post (my Tech instructor always said, computers can help you make mistakes faster which applies here). Why someone would seemingly disparage a whole class of people without exception in writing is beyond stupid. Those of us that have worked with Indian folks in the tech industry know they are not some 5th Column of anti Americanism. When I first saw Langevin's comments, the only thing I could conclude was he was crudely expressing frustration with the H1B process (which has a lot of issues). He should do himself a favor and hire a editor, because his post had a aura of absolutism which even a generous reader would conclude was directed at all Indian Americans. I wish we could draw such a concerned crowd for forced utility connections or unjustified property tax increases. Instead Mr. Langevin managed to be the subject of a multi hour political debate on Council's time that had everything but Jerry Springer in which everybody was a social justice expert and had to add their 2 cents. Fortunately for Mr Langevin, being stupid is not a crime. I would be more than satisfied if he remained in office and had to face the voters again. I would trust the voters here (and not get Tallassee involved). Which is why I could never be a politician. Given the bad publicity here,(this got local TV and Florida Today coverage, they otherwise NEVER cover Palm Bay City Govt) the remaining council members felt they needed to show some action. If you were in a position of responsibility for the City, unmanaged, something like this could affect the Bond rating. (Which if you are spending money like drunken sailors like this City is, could be a BIG problem)

Yes it should but democrats are a bunch of gutless cowards and won’t ever hold her accountable. Republicans tried but Florida’s own, republican Cory Mills, sided with Democrats. His laid off by AIPAC so he sided with Ilhan Omar.

If this applies to Councilman Langevin, then shouldn't it also apply to Representative Ilhan Omar for her comments regarding Charlie Kirk?

Fish rots from the head is the old saying and therefore one could conclude that this rot starts at the highest levels beginning in Washington then on to state and local levels.. And will continue until the citizenry puts a stop to it. It does us all and this nation a disservice.
