I had a afterthought today about this meeting. Unless I missed it in the first hour, I don't recall hearing any status on the DOGE effort in regards to Palm Bay? IMO the State has a good case for excessive spending by local governments, it will be interesting to see what their verdict is on Palm Bay.

Just a distraction from the real issues for political points. Flooding, roads, development is what residents want to discuss. Now thanks to antagonistic article's like this, Palm Bay now has a lawsuit and the community is divided. Well done! If I were you, Id be concerned a slander suit isnt on the horizon.

Just because you don't like what somebody says. It doesn't make it slander. Point out exactly where I slandered somebody please!

"Just because you don't like what somebody says ... " Isn't that what we are discussing here, how he hurt your feelings with his words. Now you want to use your freedom of speech to silence his? SMH It's truly horrifying watching this unfold. Have you stopped to look at the wreckage? What you all did to this man and his community reputation is beyond wrong. You know he lost his job AND a board position bc of the "feeding frenzy" articles like this one created? Are you "woke" Tom? Did you know he has a wife and kids. Did you stop to think of what you unleashed on his children? Does that not matter or did you not stop to think he was human. Do you want him in the street, beaten bloody? Will that make you stop writing misleading things about him? Have you ever met face to face or even had a conversation? You know he is a Marine?

You have a responsibility using your words. This garbage is not why I subscribe to your Substack. Please go back to policy where facts are used instead of fevered opinion that is causing distress and havoc in the community.

I can finally credit Chandler Langevin with accomplishing something positive for Palm Bay: he’s provided a surprisingly accurate litmus test for identifying the folks in our community who condone racism, misogyny, homophobia, or simply poor judgment.

However, I suggest you take your own advice to heart—especially when it comes to holding elected officials accountable. The standards we expect from those who serve the public are, for good reason, higher than those for private citizens.

For the record, I’ve never questioned Mr. Langevin’s right to say whatever he wants—in fact, I support anyone’s freedom of speech. My issue isn’t with his words alone, but with his actions as a public official, and that’s exactly what the censure addressed.

So now you call me vile names as reality sets in. Got it. How typical (and expected) of an emotional liberal. I thought better of you.

It's remarkable how this thread demonstrates either serious challenges with reading comprehension, or perhaps just such a narrow worldview that anyone who doesn't perfectly align with your beliefs is seen as an enemy.

For the record, my critiques remain focused on public conduct and accountability, not personal attacks—unlike your own comments, which are the only real name-calling in this thread.

Healthy communities thrive on open debate and multiple viewpoints, not drawing lines between "us" and "the enemy" whenever there's a difference of opinion. I stand by the facts and welcome all perspectives, even when we don't agree.

Bless your heart.

Thanks Tom, good summary. My take, the censure measure went pretty well (even Mr Langevin's response had some reasonable aspects). This was all good until the Deputy Mayor along with the City Attorney revealed their due diligence on a Council letter to the State Ethics Committee, which indicated there is a much higher threshold to submit ethics violations, then everybody got tangled up in their underwear over funding outside councils and if the City Mgr or Attorney would oversee such a pursuit. My conclusion is, Council Langevin still has his vote, thus for now there's no election nullification. You are wise to point out the flooding issue. While the City is attempting to practice High School Civics here with a estranged Councilman, many residents are literally up to their ankles in water. Widespread flooding will influence more elections than some dopey Councilman publishing dumb statements on social media. The City is lucky the flooding hasn't been accompanied by the usual overflow of the City sewer system into the environment ( as far as we know) , Florida Today published a story that such a event did happen in Titusville.

What matters most to me is the resolution and/or status on the Evans Center. I do not see any reference to that. Please address.
