Palm Bay, FL -- In a proactive effort to enhance its underground infrastructure, the City of Palm Bay is set to commence utility drainage lining construction across various locations. The project, scheduled from September 23rd to October 18th, 2024, will employ the innovative cured-in-place lining (CIPP) method, a trenchless rehabilitation technique that minimizes excavation and disruption.
CIPP involves inserting a resin-saturated liner into the existing damaged pipe, which is then cured to create a sturdy, new pipe within the old one. This approach significantly reduces surface disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on traffic flow and the daily lives of residents. Additionally, CIPP is expected to extend the lifespan of the rehabilitated pipes by an estimated 50 years, offering a cost-effective and long-lasting solution compared to traditional pipe replacement methods.
