Palm Bay Police Crack Down on Illegal Activity at Ais Park
Undercover Operation Leads to Multiple Arrests
Palm Bay, FL -- In response to numerous complaints regarding illegal narcotics and sexual activity at AIS Park, the Palm Bay Police Department has conducted an undercover operation that resulted in the arrest of seven individuals over three days.
Chief Augello addressed the community in a video release, stating, "This type of activity will not be tolerated in our city." He commended the community for their vigilance and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity and participate in park safety initiatives.
The operation also led to encounters with 16 other individuals who were suspected of being involved in illegal activities but left the park before committing any crimes. The police department credits the success of this operation to the community's involvement and the dedication of its law enforcement professionals.
Furthermore, the police department's intelligence units have identified websites promoting parks within Palm Bay and Brevard County as meeting points for illegal activities. Chief Augello issued a stern warning that these websites are being monitored, and anyone engaging in criminal acts will face arrest.
All seven individuals arrested during the operation were charged with Exposure of Sexual Organs, a misdemeanor offense under Florida Statute 800.03(1)(a). The affidavits reveal that the arrests stemmed from incidents where the individuals exposed themselves in a vulgar or indecent manner in public, often in secluded areas of the park frequented by individuals seeking sexual encounters.
The operation, conducted on August 15th, 2024, involved undercover officers proactively patrolling the park in response to ongoing complaints about indecent exposure. AIS Park has been identified as a known location for "cruising," a term used to describe individuals seeking anonymous sexual encounters in public spaces.
The affidavits detail how undercover officers engaged with the suspects, who subsequently exposed themselves in an attempt to solicit sexual favors. The arrests highlight the Palm Bay Police Department's commitment to addressing community concerns and maintaining public safety within the city's parks.
This operation highlights the Palm Bay Police Department's commitment to maintaining the safety and well-being of its community. Chief Augello expressed his gratitude to the citizens and law enforcement officers for their partnership and hard work.

Well just arresting them and letting them go will change nothing...The drug users don't need to be in jail and let go, they need to be forced into treatment and made to stay in the facility no less than a year with medical and psychiatric/therapy treatment. And no way to leave or just sign out..For the sexual exposers, they need a heavier sentence not just a day or two if that...don't half a55 the help..do something to change it and keep it changed and them off the streets.
It's getting to the point where you can't find a secluded place for a 'Turkish Hammer' or a 'Roanoke Reach-A-Round' anymore.
