Palm Bay Special Council Meeting on Land Development Code Moved to August 29th
Palm Bay residents urged to participate in upcoming public input sessions
Palm Bay, FL - The City of Palm Bay has announced a change in date for the Special Council Meeting related to the Land Development Code (LDC). The meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd, has been moved to Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 6:00 PM.
This shift provides additional time for residents and stakeholders to engage with the proposed amendments to the LDC, which will impact how property is developed within Palm Bay’s city limits for years to come.
The City Council's decision to postpone the meeting followed a lively public hearing on August 8th, where citizens voiced a wide range of concerns and suggestions. For a detailed explanation of the LDC and its importance, please see our previous article.
To ensure ample opportunity for input, three public input sessions are still scheduled for residents to engage with city staff and experts:
Open House: Friday, August 16th, 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Dawn Reid Community Room, Palm Bay City Hall, 120 Malabar Road SE
Virtual Open House: Monday, August 19th, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM (Registration required at www.pbfl.org/LDCupdates)
These sessions provide a chance for residents to directly address questions, share concerns, and offer valuable feedback on the proposed LDC changes. The City encourages everyone to attend these sessions and participate in shaping the future of development in Palm Bay.
“This is a chance for residents to have a real, lasting impact on how our city grows and develops,” stated Mayor Medina during the August 8th meeting. “We want to hear from you. This is your opportunity to make your voice heard on issues that will affect our community for years to come.”
