The Asphalt Rejuvenation Process:
Asphalt rejuvenation is a process that breathes new life into aging asphalt by replenishing lost bitumen oils. This process restores the asphalt's original properties and even enhances them, providing improved resilience against heavy vehicles and environmental factors.
1. Surface Preparation: The first step involves thoroughly cleaning the asphalt surface to remove any dust, debris, and other contaminants.
2. Application: A rejuvenating agent is then evenly applied across the asphalt surface.
3. Absorption and Final Touches: The rejuvenator takes approximately 15-45 minutes to soak into the asphalt. After absorption, a light layer of sand may be applied to enhance skid resistance.
What Residents Can Expect:
During the rejuvenation process, residents may notice the following:
- Temporary Road Closures: While efforts are made to keep roads open, temporary closures or partial lane restrictions may occur to ensure the safety of workers and residents.
- Noise and Odor: The application of rejuvenating agents may produce some noise and a noticeable odor, though these are temporary and should dissipate soon after the process is completed.
- Improved Road Conditions: After the rejuvenation process, residents will observe a noticeable improvement in the road's appearance and driving surface. The asphalt will be more flexible, less prone to cracking, and have an extended service life.
A Friendly Reminder
As always, keep in mind that weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect construction schedules. Lived here 10 yrs and can't believe Minton between Jupiter & Malabar is not on your list. I'm sure if you look at the man hours & materials you've spent doing patches you could have repaved it. If you can close it for a parade you can close it to pave it
