You talk about raising taxes . Why dont you just fix things with the impact fees from all this proposed building. You are probably giving them a tax break to build here. There is not one resident that lives here that wants to see this. So, What is in it for the politicians
I moved here in Palm Bay, because it wasnβt crowded. I remember looking out my front window and seeing deers. Now there are no more and the traffic is horrible. Itβs becoming increasingly to populated. Thereβs no more quietness weβre going to become a large city like Orlando with more crime. STOP THE BUILDING.
Not okay with this. My parents, myself, my children and now my grandchildren all born and raised in Florida. I moved up here from Fort Lauderdale because it reminded me of the way it used to be and the way Fort Lauderdale has become is horrible. I see the same thing happening here with building apartments on every street corner, and now they only are building HOA Neighborhoods which I think should not be legal to be around..No normal neighborhoods without rules, and fees, and people with nothing better to do than harass you about what you are doing with your own property? How is this legal how is this okay...it is disgusting..Not enough jobs, overpriced overly built housing...Looks like we need to improve the schools here, do something better with these parks, because whomever runs Fred Poppe..yea no so much more can be done with this area and overpopulating it and making it crowded with roads and streets not made for it it will be miserable. I already see so many people selling their homes. It is crazy.
I seen this happen in another State, only took 4 to 7 years, before it all came crumbling down. Florida is doing what this other State did.
No infrastructure to handle the amount of TRAFFICK that comes with the CITIES NOT DOING WHAT SHOULD BE DONE, Before any building boom starts. The CONTRACTORS & DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES COULD CARE LESS AFTER THEIR PROJECTS ARE DONE, THE CITY SEE'S MILLIONS IN PERMENTS, & NEW TAXPAYERS DOLLARS, BUT SCREW THE CITIZENS, Because once the money drys up, CITIES ALWAYS SAY NEED TO TAX THE CITIZENS MORE FOR THE NEW ROADS & INFASTSTRUCTURE!
Better start checking the councils bank accounts, everything these DEVELOPMENT companies want their getting.
1 charter school? Love the Florida law that prevents the building of a new school until actual residents are in place. I understand it, but you would think the numbers in Palm bay already warrant a new school or two.
Thats great but what about Hospitals, Fire Departments and Police officers.. We certainly need all of the mentioned with all the people moving here plus all the traffic is unbearable now, what is it going to be like if all the building of houses, apts, etc is completed.. PALM BAY will be worse than MIAMI. What are you people thinking . A little common sense goes along ways but obviously all the people in charge have no brains at all..
Climate change's 100-year flood has not been planned for. This building boom will displace rainwater absorption, and flooding will result in catastrophic consequences.
It causes me great concern when I see the amount of houses and apartments and other new facilities to house people that are in the planning or construction phases for Palm Bay. Not only does the thought of thousands of more cars on our already inadequate road system give me a sick feeling inside, but one other thing is rediculous! In the list of things being planned, there is only ONE school in the planning! Thousands of new dwellingsβ¦.ten thousand more children! And only one new school to accommodate the influx. Florida seems to have a shortage of schools and teachers, already! I donβt have any school age children, but I canβt help but feel sorry for all those new children. My husband and I were almost in a serious accident, yesterday, because some idiot decided to pass us in anβSβ curve , and also it is a school zone! He was within an inch of the drivers fender, and if a car would have been coming north, on the other end of the βSβ, there would have been 3 cars in a head on crash! Add the idiots to the grid lock we all face during peak travel times, and we will surely need more hospitals, too! The list goes on and on! When will this disaster in the making quit? Itβs time to ease back on these expansions, and get the basic needs caught up first!
I totally agree this is crazy and its time to put a stop to all of this . If only the residents of Palm Bay had a say so.. The idiots in charge of our once awesome place to live needs to be removed from office..
That's a data issue. The city publishes this data in a very hard to read format. The city also has a system called IMS where any citizen can see each new development as they come online and all the supporting documentation. As a citizen using IMS I do not have the ability to run any type of report. I check it 2 or 3 times per week to see if anything surprising has been submitted. (BTW The Dairy Queen on Minton Rd. should come out of the ground in the next few weeks). If they would link IMS to the developments they publish on the city website it would make things much easier to track. Maybe it's difficult by design.
My husband is waiting for that Dairy Queen. He would have been very happy if it would have been built in Bayside Lakes - LOL. We don't need 2 auto parts stores here, don't need 2 coffee shops (especially the high priced Starbucks- yuck), or the 700 homes they are trying to build on the former golf course. Need more good restaurants. No more pizza, Thai, Chinese, etc., we need real restaurants.

So there goes the wildlife and ecosystem. No one in city planning seems to know what they are doing, this is going to be a miserable place to live.
Where are the new roads and road widening to support all this growth?

Build INFRASTRUCTURE first.
This place is run by morons with deep pockets!!!
VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

Not a lot of food options for the amount of people. And the storage units why so many?
This is NOT good news very poor planning has been done by those in charge! People get out and VOTE!
