The Indian Kite Festival 2025 is set to take place on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Fred Poppe Regional Park, located at 1951 Malabar Rd NW, Palm Bay, Florida.

This vibrant event is presented by the Indian Association of the Space Coast (IASC) in partnership with the City of Palm Bay and promises a day filled with culture, fun, and community spirit.

Why You Can’t Miss It 🌟

The Indian Kite Festival, inspired by the joyous traditions of Uttarayan in India, is a celebration of the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Uttarayan, also known as Makar Sankranti, marks the sun's northward journey, symbolizing renewal, gratitude for a bountiful harvest, and the spirit of community gatherings. Here’s what to look forward to:

Kite Flying for All: Purchase colorful kites and strings on-site and join in the fun. Outside kites and strings are not allowed, ensuring a safe and organized experience for everyone.
Delicious Food Vendors: Savor mouthwatering dishes, from Indian classics to local favorites, and enjoy sweet treats from various food stalls.
Entertainment Galore: Be mesmerized by cultural performances and live entertainment throughout the day, showcasing the rich traditions of India.
Family-Friendly Fun: Kids can enjoy inflatables and other engaging activities, making it a perfect event for families.
Henna Art: Experience the beauty of traditional henna designs, a staple of Indian festivals.

Plan for the Day 🌞

The weather on Sunday, January 26, 2025, is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 71°F during the day and cooling to 57°F in the evening. With moderate winds at 10-15 mph, it’s perfect kite-flying weather! Bring a light jacket or sweater for when the temperatures drop later in the day, and don’t forget sunscreen or a hat to stay comfortable during the festivities.

Supporting a Greater Cause 💙

A portion of the proceeds from the festival will go towards supporting veterans, funding essential services such as housing assistance, mental health programs, and career training opportunities. Your participation not only celebrates culture but also helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
