Space Force Announces Base Defense Drills with Simulated Explosions and Gunfire
The United States Space Force has issued a public advisory regarding an upcoming training exercise at the Malabar Annex in Palm Bay. The 45th Security Forces Squadron will be conducting a Base Defense Field Training Exercise on April 18-19 and April 25-26, 2024.
During the exercise, residents can expect to hear small explosions and simulated noise of live gunfire between approximately 1:00 PM to 9:00 AM on the scheduled dates. The Space Force emphasizes that these activities are part of routine training and urges residents not to be alarmed.
The Malabar Annex training will involve the utilization of assets from the 45th Security Forces Squadron to simulate potential security scenarios and enhance preparedness.
Space Launch Delta 45, based at Patrick Space Force Base, operates the Eastern Range and ensures safety and mission assurance for all rocket launches from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and NASAβs Kennedy Space Center.
