About the Project
FDOT’s U.S. 1 Roadway Resurfacing and Safety Improvements Project (FPID 448793-1) aims to extend the roadway’s lifespan and enhance safety for all users. Key improvements include:
Roadway resurfacing and drainage upgrades.
7-foot-wide buffered bicycle lanes from Myers Drive to University Boulevard.
Reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps to meet ADA standards.
Upgraded pedestrian signals and enhanced intersection lighting.
Installation of raised and directional medians from Avenida Del Rio to Crane Creek Bridge, restricting certain left turns from side streets and driveways.
During construction, drivers can expect intermittent daytime single-lane and nighttime double-lane closures. Uneven pavement may occur temporarily as multiple asphalt layers are applied. Electronic message boards and signage will help direct traffic through the work zone.
