Thanks Tom, this looks like a lot of good work to coral the candidates. I'm a bit surprised to observe throughout this campaign season how little focus is placed on the Tallahassee 2030 mandates for mandatory Utility/ Advanced Septic upgrades. I've tried contacting many candidates (Local & State) across the ballot and have only gotten 2 responses. (for the record Councilman Kenny Johnson gave me a thoughtful reply, as did Gov candidate James Fishback) I guess I could generously conclude that this problem is filed under "legacy issues stemming from 1970s"? I'd hate to be sitting at the Council dias in 4 years after residents receive some government certified letter demanding compliance under threat of fines and a bill for tens of thousands of dollars to commission a backhoe and crew to raise the elevation of your backyard for a "Advanced" Septic installation..
That's an issue I track daily. There is no logical way that the 2030 deadline can be met. The supply chain will not support the material needs, and the workforce to accomplish simply does not exist. I watch for any news or legislation that is published about it each morning.
Kenny Johnson - I cannot vote for either of your opponents, but you do need to rethink your support of FLOCK cameras in any form. They violate the spirit, if not the letter of the Fourth Amendment!
