Free speech yes! Consequences? Yes!

As some celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination found out, you can say it! But the consequence might be your job.

Chandler is immature in both his Christian life and in his public life.

Once Rhonda Santis learns of Langevin's hateful rhetoric, he'll probably take him or FL State Reprobate Randy Vile as his VP running mate for 2028.

I'm concerned about his Indian remarks, but far more so from his announcement at the Charlie Kirk parade --- with a gun on his hip --- that "the time for unity is over; it's time for activation".

His speech IS protected by the First Amendment. That's why he wasn't arrested. The First Amendment provides no protection from being suspended, fired, recalled, ostracized, shamed, or considered a moron.

He has the right speak his mind, like any citizen. Although it may seem racist, it is not hateful nor inciting violence. ALL speech must be protected, esp when you may disagree with it.

You're right that freedom of speech is a fundamental American value, and it's important to protect it.

However, the courts have consistently ruled that this right is not absolute, especially for public officials. When someone is elected, their words carry the weight of their office and can have serious consequences for the community they serve.

Speech is not protected by the First Amendment when it incites imminent lawless action or constitutes a "true threat" that intimidates residents and makes them afraid to participate in civic life. When an elected leader pairs calls for the mass deportation of a group of people with text describing military ambush tactics, it crosses the line from expressing an opinion into creating a reasonable fear of violence.

This isn't about policing opinions; it's about upholding the legal and ethical responsibility of an elected official to ensure all citizens of our city feel safe and protected, regardless of their background.

Coming from this charlatan, its not surprising. She is in her 3rd term, has no business in Brevard politics and needs to mind her own business. This is the voters choice not the politicians. Perhaps her attention is better served explaining why and how her son in law who owns Rivian car maker recd a 6 billion dollar loan from Biden. Ask her why she never condemns Randy Fines racism.
